The following Saturday events are open to the public and take place at the Junior Center of Art and Science (unless otherwise indicated). 5th Annual Crab Feed Dinner and Benefit Auction

The Junior Center of Art and Science cordially invites you to
The Fifth Annual Crab Feed Dinner and Auction to benefit the JCAS School Outreach Programs and Scholarship Fund.

The Science of Ice Cream & Chocolate
Saturday, May 15, 2010 11:00am - 2:00pm

$5 per person (in advance)
$8 per person (day of event)

A tasty event which explores the science of making chocolate and ice cream. Participants of all ages are invited to enjoy hands-on science experiments and art activities. Treats from ice cream and chocolate vendors will be featured at tasting stations at the event.

55th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!
October 17, 2009 4:00 – 7:00pm

You are cordially invited to
The Junior Center of Art & Science 55th Birthday Celebration!

Join us in celebrating the
Junior Center's 55th Birthday
and the 20th Anniversary of
Tammara Katsikas, Executive Director.

The event will include:

  • interactive demonstrations and performances by local artists and scientists
  • appetizing food and beverages from local restaurants and bakeries
  • exhibits and activity stations for children and the young at heart.

Rocket Science & Recycled Robots
January 30, 2010 11:00am - 2:00pm

$5 per person (in advance)
$8 per person (day of event)

Explore the power of water and air pressure through a series of fun experiments and activities. Working as a group, or individually, you will build and launch water rockets, which can fly up to 60 feet in the air. The event will also include a 'Build a Recycled Robot' station and other fun activities!
